Witness account

Witness, a records clerk, found a bound ledger annotated with membership entries under the heading "Ninth Meridian". Entries run from 1932 to the present and appear in a consistent hand. The clerk photographed three pages and returned the ledger to its shelf. It was not on the shelf the following day. The Ninth Meridian Society is a fictional society in the Bureau’s files.
